Mishap victims’ bodies flown in

ManamaThe bodies of two Bahrainis killed in a horrific road accident in Spain were flown back to Bahrain Thursday.

A diplomatic source confirmed that the bodies were brought to Bahrain in a jet belonging to the Royal Bahraini Air Force.

Four people, including a Bahraini brother and sister, were killed in a fatal traffic accident caused by a drunk driver in Malaga, Spain on Wednesday.

The source also revealed that the Spanish driver of the car that the Bahraini citizens were in succumbed to his wounds and was announced dead on Thursday night.

“The body of the Kuwaiti aunt of the Bahraini victims will be repatriated to Kuwait tomorrow (Saturday),” the source said.

Two other Bahrainis involved in the accident remain in the hospital and are in stable conditions.

According to Spanish newspaper, the driver who caused the accident was under the influence of alcohol and drug, and worked as a local policeman.

The newspaper had reported that the drunk driver rammed into a vehicle, killing a child in it, before crashing into the minivan the Bahraini family was travelling, causing it to flip multiple
times.

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa had issued directives to provide support for the Bahraini family involved in the
accident.

Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has expressed his  condolences to  the  family killed in the accident. HRH Premier had earlier directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to follow up the  tragic incident and ensure that the family is provided with the best medical services.
