Al Mahmood Ends Dressage Campaign
Bahrain’s dressage campaign at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya came to an end yesterday after Aneesa Al Mahmood completed the second individual qualifier at Equestrian Park in Tokyo.
Riding Samira O, Al Mahmood earned a score of 63.118 per cent to finish 30th in the Small Tour qualifier, improving on the 60.676 she recorded in the opening round.
Her combined score of 123.794 left her 35th in the overall qualification standings and outside the places for today’s individual final.
Compatriot Megan Black, who led Bahrain’s challenge in the opening qualifier with 65.324 aboard Deinrich, did not feature in the second-round results.
China Lead Way
At the top of the standings, China’s Yu Jiayi produced the best score of the second qualifier with 71.853 aboard Jackpoint, taking her combined total to 142.118.
Compatriot Rao Jiayi was second overall on 139.618, while South Korea’s Nam Dongheon placed third with 138.706.
The individual final takes place today at 3.30am, Bahrain time, with the wider equestrian programme continuing next week with the jumping competitions.
