Bahrain Strengthens Health Cooperation with UAE and Singapore
Health Minister Dr Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan held separate meetings with Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention of the UAE, and Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health of Singapore, in New York.
The meetings took place on the sidelines of a high-level gathering on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During her meeting with the UAE minister, Dr Jaleela discussed ways to strengthen health cooperation between Bahrain and the UAE, including greater exchange of expertise and experience in specialised medical fields.
The discussions also covered opportunities to improve healthcare services and make greater use of scientific developments and emerging technologies in diagnosis, treatment and patient care.
In her meeting with Singapore’s health minister, Dr Jaleela explored further cooperation and knowledge-sharing in areas including infectious and non-communicable diseases, health emergencies and disease prevention.
Both sides also discussed the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare and how emerging technologies could support the development of medical services and strengthen health systems’ ability to respond to future challenges.
