Seventh Shaikh Isa Work Award in September

ManamaThe seventh edition of the His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa’s Award for Voluntary Work, organised by the Good Word Society in cooperation with the Arab Federation for Voluntary Work, will be held between September 12 and 14.

Attracting participants from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Arab countries, the award events will be held to mark the Arab Voluntary Work Day 2017.

On the occasion, Good Word Society’s Board Chairman, Hassan Bu Hazza’a, said that the award has become one of the most important voluntary work awards at the GCC and Arab levels thanks to HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali’s patronage, noting that the award has made a quantum leap in the field of voluntary work.

He explained that this year’s edition will honour Arab voluntary work pioneers, as well as the best voluntary work projects in Bahrain (which is held for the third consecutive year), in line with the award’s officials’ recognition of the importance of availing of the regional and Arab experience in fostering volunteerism concepts among the members of the Bahraini society.

He indicated that the organising committee had held a number of preparatory meetings after its meeting with the Award’s patron, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali, to discuss this edition’s criteria, participation conditions and the Arab personalities to be honoured.

He noted that nomination for the Best Voluntary Work Project Award will be open on July 31 so as to be studied by the high-profile jury.

Bu Hazza’a highlighted the positive cooperation between the Good Word Society and the Arab Federation for Voluntary Work, noting that it has contributed to expanding the fields of voluntary work across the Arab world.

It is worth noting that the HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work is granted to the best three voluntary work projects in Bahrain, with the first winning US$ 4000, the second US$ 3000 and the third US$ 2000.
