BIC launches registration for 2026-27 season of Bahrain Touring Car Challenge

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, announced the opening of registration for the 2026-27 season of the Bahrain Touring Car Challenge (BTCC), one of the region’s leading national racing championships.

Those wishing to participate in the new season can review the championship’s sporting and technical regulations, complete the registration form, and submit it via email to btcc@bic.com.bh. Applicants must ensure that their racing licence is valid for the 2026-27 season.

To participate, drivers must hold a valid Bahrain Motor Federation National ‘C’ Circuit Racing Licence or higher, or an equivalent Circuit Racing Licence issued by an FIA-affiliated national sporting authority in a GCC country. The championship’s sporting and technical regulations and registration form are available at www.crc.me.

The 2026-27 championship will consist of seven rounds, beginning with the official shakedown on October 16 at Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, followed by the season-opening round on October 30 as part of BIC’s National Race Day, organised by BIC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation and the Circuit Racing Commission.

Ali Almansoori won the 2025-26 title after an exceptional season in which he won all 14 races, while James Taylor finished second and Ahmed Bajnaid came third. Almansoori also claimed two additional awards for the season’s fastest lap and the most pole positions.

The Bahrain Touring Car Challenge, formerly known as the BIC 2,000cc Challenge, is one of several national racing championships hosted by Bahrain International Circuit as part of its 2026-27 calendar, which also includes karting, drag racing, autocross, and drifting.
