Shaikh Isa bin Ali Presents Asian Games Gold to South Korea
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Head of Bahrain’s delegation, presented the gold medals to South Korea after its women’s basketball team defeated Japan 75-70 in the final of the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali congratulated the South Korean team on securing the Asian title and praised the performances of both finalists.
He highlighted the high level of competition as a reflection of the continued development of women’s basketball across Asia and the growing support for women’s sport in the region.
He also praised the efforts of the organising committee and the arrangements in place for the basketball competitions, wishing all participating teams continued success.
The 20th Asian Games are taking place in Japan from September 19 to October 4, 2026.
