ICRF Bahrain Gears Up for 18th Edition of Faber-Castell Spectra Art Carnival
Preparations have officially commenced for the 18th edition of ‘Faber-Castell Spectra 2026’, the flagship student art competition organized by the Indian Community Welfare Forum (ICRF Bahrain). The annual art carnival will take place on Friday, November 13, 2026, at the Indian School, Isa Town Campus.
Registration for the competition will open in the first week of October and close on November 5, 2026. Participation is permitted through schools and educational institutions. Over the years, Spectra has emerged as one of Bahrain’s premier student art events, uniting students across Indian, Bahraini, and international school curricula.
Marking its 18th consecutive year, Faber-Castell continues as the Title Supporter—a partnership established since the event's inception in 2009—while Malabar Gold returns as the Presenter. Ahead of the event, ICRF held a School Coordinators’ Meeting on September 23, attended by around 50 teachers representing 35 schools across the Kingdom.
Participants will be divided into four age categories comprising 5 to 8 years, 8 to 11 years, 11 to 14 years, and 14 to 18 years. An online category will also be open for adult participants. All contestants will receive free drawing materials courtesy of Faber-Castell, alongside certificates of participation. Top winners in each category will receive trophies, certificates, and medals. Outstanding winning entries will be featured in the 2027 ICRF Wall and Desk Calendars, set for release in December 2026.
This year, ICRF will also present special recognitions to teachers who have supported Spectra for over 10 years during the awards ceremony, as well as to media organizations during the calendar launch function. Official Recognition for Humanitarian Services; Public Contributions Enabled via BenefitPay
Speaking on the organization’s ongoing humanitarian mission, officials highlighted that ICRF is a fully recognized non-governmental organization operating under the Ministry of Social Development. Community members wishing to support ICRF's welfare initiatives can now make direct, legally approved donations via the Charity option on the BenefitPay app.
In addition to ongoing food kit distributions for low-income workers, ICRF announced a Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign in partnership with American Mission Hospital during October, featuring free medical screenings for women. Furthermore, serious discussions are underway to roll out a low-cost insurance scheme tailored for Indian expatriates in Bahrain.
