National Halal Mark to Boost Bahraini Products

He stressed that the ministry is committed to protecting consumer interests and supporting national establishments by improving the quality and competitiveness of locally produced goods.

Eng. Asim said Resolution No. (125) of 2026 concerning the National Halal Mark and the licensing requirements for its use represents an important step towards regulating the halal products sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The resolution is also expected to enhance the reliability of products carrying the National Halal Mark among consumers in both local and international markets, he added.

He explained that the resolution establishes a clear legal and regulatory framework governing the use of the National Halal Mark, ensuring that it is restricted to products that meet approved requirements and standards.

The framework also ensures the authorised and regulated use of the mark, contributing to greater trust and transparency in the halal products market.

Eng. Asim said regulating the National Halal Mark would support the competitiveness of Bahraini products and strengthen their presence in regional and international markets by providing a trusted identity for products that meet halal requirements.

This, he added, would increase their commercial value and support opportunities for Bahraini products to enter foreign markets.

Under the licensing requirements, applicants must be establishments registered in the Commercial Registration (CR). They must also specify the halal products on which they wish to use the National Halal Mark.

Applicants are required to obtain a halal certificate issued by halal product auditing bodies for the products for which they seek to use the National Halal Mark.

They must also provide evidence of their compliance with the supervision and monitoring system and specify the annual production quantity of the product for which the National Halal Mark is requested.
