At Bhavans Bahrain Indian School, the new academic year commenced not merely with preparation, but with purpose, professional renewal and a powerful commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. Welcoming teachers back after the summer break, Principal Mr. Saji Jacob set the tone for an inspiring and purposeful new academic year, ushering in a vibrant week of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at Bhavans Bahrain Indian School. It brought together educators for an intensive and stimulating series of professional learning experiences designed to sharpen pedagogical practices, embrace innovation and strengthen classroom impact.

Far more than a conventional orientation programme, the week-long initiative was envisioned as a professional learning journey—one that equipped teachers with contemporary strategies, encouraged reflection on classroom practices and provided opportunities to translate educational concepts into meaningful action.

The carefully curated programme brought together a dynamic blend of contemporary educational themes, including NCF 2023, AI-powered teaching, computational thinking, higher-order thinking, differentiated instruction, classroom management, teacher wellness, assessment and 21st-century teaching skills. Interactive sessions, hands-on activities and department-wise demonstrations ensured that every learning experience was practical, engaging and classroom-connected.

A major highlight was the Workshop on the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023, led by eminent educationist and national-level trainer Mr. N. M. Bhatia. Drawing on his extensive experience with CBSE, NCERT, academic leadership and teacher training, Mr. Bhatia offered valuable insights into translating curriculum vision into effective classroom practice. His engaging approach inspired teachers to embrace competency-based, experiential and learner-centred learning, making the session highly thought-provoking and impactful.

The CPD series further strengthened teachers’ professional capacity through sessions on AI, questioning techniques, differentiated learning, assessment beyond marks, classroom management and future-ready teaching, complemented by immersive demo classes.

Aligned with the school’s commitment to quality assurance and BQA expectations, the programme reinforced reflective practice, innovation, teacher competency and learner-centred education.
