Tolerance and Coexistence

Dr. Yusuf Abdulkarim Bucheeri, Director General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received Edward B. Rowe, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and an adviser to the Church’s Middle East and North Africa Area Presidency, along with members of the church delegation.
During the meeting, Dr. Bucheeri welcomed Rowe and the accompanying delegation, highlighting the importance of strengthening dialogue and communication among followers of different religions and cultures.
He affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to supporting efforts and initiatives that promote tolerance, coexistence, understanding and mutual respect. He also highlighted the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, in establishing and promoting values of tolerance, coexistence and interfaith and intercultural dialogue through a range of initiatives and institutions, including the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence.
For his part, Rowe expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s efforts to advance tolerance, coexistence and dialogue among religions and cultures. He praised the Kingdom’s role in supporting these values and fostering understanding among different communities, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation and exchanging expertise and initiatives in this field.
