Appeal against acquittal adjourned

The High Criminal Appeals adjourned the appeal of the Public Prosecution against the acquittal of a policeman accused of murdering a fugitive until October 12.
The officer was tried over accusation of opening fire on 20-year-old Fadhel Abbas Musalem.
He died after being shot on his head on January 9 last year as he tried to evade arrest.
He was also charged of injuring another suspect during the same event.
The High Criminal Court, however, acquitted him of killing the accused due to lack of proof, though he was sentenced to three months in prison for injuring the other suspect.
