Bahrain Chairs GCC Public Prosecution Committee Meeting

Bahrain's Public Prosecution chaired the 52nd meeting of the Committee of Specialists from the Public Prosecutions and Public Prosecutor's Offices of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in Riyadh.
The meeting was led by Advocate General Counsellor Fahad Khalid Al Buainain and attended by Chief Prosecutor Mohammed Yousif Al Zubari, representing Bahrain, alongside delegates from public prosecution authorities across GCC member states.
During the meeting, participants reviewed Bahrain's proposal for a model law governing the use of artificial intelligence applications in the work of public prosecutions and public prosecutor's offices across the GCC. The proposal aims to keep pace with technological advancements while enhancing judicial efficiency and performance.
The committee also discussed a draft set of unified judicial instructions for members of public prosecutions and public prosecutor's offices in GCC countries. In addition, members reviewed a proposal to establish a GCC framework for joint investigation teams, designed to strengthen judicial cooperation, coordination, and information-sharing among member states.
The discussions reflected ongoing efforts to advance legal and judicial collaboration across the GCC and support the development of modern prosecution systems in line with emerging technologies.
