The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's visit to the country as part of his regional tour and ahead of the GCC-US Ministerial Meeting, which Bahrain will host.

According to a statement from the ministry, the meeting highlights Bahrain and the United States' shared commitment to strengthening their long-time friendship and strategic relationship and improving regional security and stability.

Bahrain pointed out its pride in its close relationship with the United States, as well as its commitment to strengthening collaboration under the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA). According to the government, the alliance promotes mutual interests while also contributing to regional and global peace and security.

The ministry also expressed support for US President Donald Trump's peace initiatives, commending efforts to settle regional and international disputes through discussion, understanding, and peaceful ways.

Bahrain welcomed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, and expressed support for ongoing diplomatic efforts to seek a peaceful and long-term resolution to the Iranian issue.

The ministry emphasised that any agreement must ensure Iran respects other states' sovereignty, refrains from interfering in their internal affairs, discontinues support for armed proxy groups, guarantees freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, and protects global trade, energy, and food supplies in accordance with international law.
