US Assures Gulf Allies of Support as Iran Talks Move Forward

Riyadh: United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio has assured Gulf allies that Washington will protect their interests as it works towards a final settlement with Iran following the recent conflict in the Middle East.
Speaking during a regional tour, Rubio sought to reassure Gulf nations that were directly affected by the war, which saw Iran launch missiles and drones across the region. Several Gulf states also faced major economic disruption after Iran effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global oil and gas shipments.
Rubio said the United States remains committed to the security and stability of its Gulf partners while pursuing diplomatic efforts with Tehran. His visit comes as Washington attempts to build support for negotiations aimed at preventing further escalation and securing a lasting resolution to the conflict.
US officials have indicated that consultations with Gulf allies will continue as discussions with Iran progress, with the aim of reaching a settlement that reduces tensions while safeguarding regional stability.
