Bahrain MPs to take action
Manama : Members of the special parliamentary committee formed to investigate the quality of medical services at public and private medical centres pledged to investigate medical negligence claims and to hold the responsible parties accountable.
Members who met yesterday stated that they will organise field visits to all healthcare establishments in the Kingdom to assess the quality of medical services provided.
“The degraded medical services and risking patients’ lives this way is unacceptable. The quality of medical services is threatened because of the increase of deaths, especially among children,” the committee’s Deputy Head Jalal Kadhim said.
“The committee will hold the people responsible for any death cases at medical centres accountable, in case it was caused by negligence. All health establishments will be visited between February 23 and March 9, starting with SMC and the Psychiatric Hospital,” Kadhim added.
