The body of a garage worker, who died in an accident in East Riffa, was repatriated to his hometown in the Indian State of Rajasthan last night.

Nawab Ali Khan, aged 61, died on January 31 after he was trapped between a forklift and a car reversing out of the garage in East Riffa where he was working.

Nawab Ali Khan has been working as a foreman in Al Mohsin Garage for the past 32 years. The tragic incident occurred  when he was talking to one of his brothers, Younus Ali Khan, in front of his workplace.

Younus was also injured in the accident. Nawab Ali died on his way to BDF hospital in Riffa.

The dead body, which was kept in Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) mortuary, was flown to India by Air India, accompanied by his brother Muhammad Sharafat, who is also working in Bahrain.

Nawab Ali is survived by his wife and three children, who are in his hometown.

The last time he visited India was a year ago to attend his daughter’s marriage.   “He was an amicable and helpful person. He  was planning to leave for India after receiving the news about his father’s illness,” his nephew Muhammed Vasi told DT News.
