138 Housing Plots in Al Dair and Samaheej

Muharraq Municipal Council has unanimously approved a proposal urging authorities to allocate 138 state-owned plots for housing in Al Dair and Samaheej instead of using them for compensation purposes.
Councillors said many housing applicants from the two villages have been waiting since 2005 to 2007 for residential solutions.
Councillor Fadel Al Oud said the lack of nearby housing developments is forcing residents to consider relocation to areas such as Madinat Salman or Sitra.
He added that the council views the plots as essential for addressing long-standing housing demand in the region.
The council said the land should remain part of a housing scheme to support local families and prevent displacement from Muharraq Governorate.
