Yoga Inspires Student Wellness

The Bahrain Indian School (BIS) celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2026 with active participation from students and staff, highlighting the importance of yoga for physical, mental and emotional well-being.
Aligned with this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” the programme focused on promoting yoga as a daily practice for maintaining fitness, improving concentration, managing stress and supporting a healthy lifestyle.
The sessions were organised for students from Grades 1 to 12 in three groups, with guidance from the Physical Education Department. Participants practised various yoga postures and breathing exercises, including Surya Namaskar, Tadasana, Trikonasana, Vajrasana, Padmasana and Anulom Vilom Pranayama.
