Qatar Condoles UAE Over Contractor’s Death in Bahrain Missile Attack
Qatar has expressed its deepest condolences to the United Arab Emirates following the death of a civilian contractor serving with the UAE Armed Forces during a routine mission in Bahrain.
The incident occurred during an Iranian missile and drone attack targeting Bahrain, according to official statements.
In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed its full solidarity with both the UAE and Bahrain, reiterating support for all measures taken to safeguard their sovereignty and security.
The contractor, identified as a Moroccan national working with the UAE Armed Forces, was killed while on duty alongside personnel from the Bahrain Defence Force. The BDF confirmed that the attacks have been ongoing since February 28, 2026.
The BDF also reported that several of its personnel and UAE counterparts were injured while responding to the attacks. The injured were immediately evacuated for treatment, with most now discharged from hospital after sustaining minor to moderate injuries.
Qatar extended heartfelt sympathies to the family of the deceased and wished a swift recovery to all injured personnel from both the UAE Ministry of Defense and the Bahrain Defence Force.
The General Command of the BDF mourned the loss and offered condolences to the UAE Armed Forces and the victim’s family, praying for mercy upon the deceased and strength for his loved ones.
Despite the attacks, the BDF affirmed that its forces remain on duty, continuing to defend Bahrain’s airspace, territorial waters, and land against any threats to national security and stability.
Authorities also urged the public to rely on official sources for information and to refrain from spreading rumors.
