At a ceremony marking the 35th Anniversary of German Unity, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, reaffirmed the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to peaceful coexistence and dialogue as the cornerstone of regional stability.

Addressing diplomats, dignitaries, and officials gathered at the Sheraton Hotel Bahrain, Dr. Al Zayani emphasized that the Kingdom remains steadfast in its vision of a Middle East built on understanding, mutual respect, and cooperation.

Turning to regional affairs, the Minister referred to the U.S. peace initiative introduced under U.S. President Donald Trump, describing it as a framework that could pave the way toward “a fair, lasting, and comprehensive peace” in the region.

He reiterated Bahrain’s enduring support for the two-state solution, stressing that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state living side by side with Israel in peace, security, and mutual recognition remains the most viable path to stability and prosperity.

“The path to peace requires courage, respect, and the will to build bridges, not barriers,” Dr. Al Zayani said, adding that Bahrain will continue to support dialogue and cooperation among nations as the foundation for lasting harmony.

In his remarks, Henning Georg Simons, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bahrain, praised the Kingdom’s role in promoting dialogue and cultural diversity, and highlighted Germany’s ongoing efforts to support global peace, particularly in light of the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.

He also emphasized the growing economic and educational cooperation between Bahrain and Germany, noting that both nations share a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and mutual understanding.

The evening celebrated 35 years of German unity — a symbol of reconciliation, resilience, and shared values — while also reaffirming the enduring friendship between Bahrain and Germany as they look toward a future of partnership in energy, peace, and global development.
