HM King Announces Permanent Diplomatic Mission for Bahrain in Beirut

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa warmly welcomed His Excellency Michel Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, at Al-Qudaibiya Palace today. The official visit, attended by senior Bahraini leaders including Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, marks a new chapter in Bahrain-Lebanon cooperation.

The visit began with a formal reception featuring national anthems, a 21-gun salute, and exchanges of greetings between the leaders and officials from both sides. King Hamad and President Aoun held extensive bilateral talks reviewing the strong historic bonds and exploring avenues for enhanced collaboration across political, economic, and social sectors.

Highlighting the importance of the visit, King Hamad announced the establishment of a permanent Bahraini diplomatic mission in Beirut, reflecting Bahrain’s renewed commitment to Lebanon and its people. He also stressed activating joint committees to implement agreements and unlock new opportunities benefiting both nations.

King Hamad reaffirmed Bahrain’s support for Lebanese sovereignty and stability amid regional challenges, praising President Aoun’s leadership and Lebanon’s ongoing efforts to restore national unity and prosperity.

President Aoun, in turn, expressed heartfelt appreciation for Bahrain’s steadfast support, emphasizing the mutual love and shared values between the two countries. He called for renewed economic ties and diplomatic presence, pledging to further strengthen the historic partnership.

The visit coincides with the 53rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bahrain and Lebanon, underscoring decades of friendship and cooperation. The talks concluded with a formal luncheon hosted by King Hamad in honor of President Aoun and his delegation, led by Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
