People engage in exciting hunt for 'mystery cash' in Bahrain's public areas!

In an intriguing twist, an anonymous individual on Instagram has initiated a captivating cash hunt phenomenon in Bahrain.

Under the account name “Cashhunt.bahrain,” this mysterious figure has been hiding money and valuable coupons around public spaces, enticing locals to embark on a thrilling treasure hunt.

The mastermind behind the account, who wishes to remain unidentified, revealed the inspiration behind this unique endeavour to The Daily Tribune.

“I stumbled upon an Instagram account featuring a man conducting similar cash giveaways in India. It immediately sparked the idea in my mind: ‘What if I try this in Bahrain?’” After conducting thorough research, it became evident that no such initiative had been attempted in the Kingdom.

Consequently, the anonymous Instagram page was created, marking the inception of this captivating enterprise.

The first video, shot in an Adliya park, was posted in early February, and since then, a total of 12 videos have been produced.

Delight

The account owner expressed delight over the response, stating, “Individuals do come to pick up the money, yes. Initially, it took a few hours for the money to be claimed.

However, due to increasing attention, the cash is now snatched up within minutes.

It seems that the challenge has been embraced by the public.” The account owner strategically selects parks and public spaces that are easily accessible to maximise participation.

While he has yet to meet anyone in person, claimants often reach out to him via messages or leave comments below his videos. “I no longer hide cash directly.

Instead, I hide coupons worth two, three, and five Bahraini dinars.

Once the coupon is collected, the individual must message me for verification.

I then tag the lucky recipient in my Instagram story, allowing for more open communication with the public,” the owner explained.

When questioned about the possible beneficiaries of this initiative, the account owner expressed uncertainty but acknowledged that there are individuals in need.

Helpful hand

“Many people are searching for work, but I cannot be certain who is collecting the money.

Therefore, this endeavour might provide a helping hand in the form of pocket money,” he remarked.

Assuring his commitment to the project, he concluded, “I intend to continue working on this endeavour, and I have additional plans for the future.”

The “Cashhunt.bahrain” account has captured the imagination of locals, injecting an element of excitement and surprise into their lives.

As participants eagerly explore parks and public spaces, the hidden cash serves as a symbol of hope and a small reward for their efforts.
