Green technology workshop held

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), organised a virtual workshop entitled “Green Information and Communication Technology”. Government and private sector organisations and universities’ employees participated in the workshop.

SCE Information and Communication Technology Department head Manal Al Eid presented a working paper consisting of the green communications concept and its role in achieving sustainable development and reviewing the most important SCE initiatives for the environment and Bahrain achievements in this regard.

UN Environment’s West Asia Office science programmes regional coordinator Dr Abdel Moneim Mohamed Hassan presented a working paper entitled “Legal basis and international mechanisms for environmental protection, in addition to reviewing international environmental agreements”.

The event was within the NIHR’s plan to strengthen community partnership in the field of green information and communication technology, and raise awareness of the most important international laws and instruments concerned with protecting the environment in the field of green information and communication technology
