Bahrain’s human rights achievements highlighted

Bahrain’s human rights achievements were highlighted in a Ministry of Interior lecture delivered by Assistant Foreign Minister Abdulla bin Faisal bin Jabur Al Doseri. He stressed the role of Bahraini diplomacy in protecting national interests and supporting all efforts aimed at achieving stability and enhancing security.

“Bahrain guarantees all human rights without exception, and promotes justice and equality,” he said, stressing the Kingdom’s legal obligations that are based on respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. The Assistant Foreign Minister added that Bahrain has taken all the appropriate measures to protect these rights and ensure that they are not violated.

He commended the reform approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Government’s Action Plan (GPA 2019-2022), which focuses on protecting the gains under the fiscal balance programme, strengthening the basic principles of the state and society, and ensuring financial sustainability and economic development.

The Assistant Foreign Minister affirmed Bahrain’s respect for the rules of international law and international human rights laws, stressing preparations for the universal periodic review and national reports which are submitted in accordance with the highest international standards.
