176 Stranded Srilankan workers repatriated

Srilankan Embassy confirmed that the 02nd repatriation flight UL 202 operated by Srilankan Airlines carrying 176 stranded Sri Lankans in Bahrain in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak, left Manama International Airport on 23.08.2020, @13:10 hours. The repatriation flight was coordinated with the assistance of the Presidential Secretariat, Secretary/Ministry of Foreign, Bahrain Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Srilankan Airlines. 

When accommodating repatriation requests priority was given to those who had lost employment, legal status, medical emergencies, short-term visa & families with dependents. 

All passengers have undergone PCR testing prior to 72 hours of their departure to Sri Lanka. Photos taken at Bahrain International Airport during repatriation.
