New website for agriculture

Manama : The Agriculture and Marine Wealth Under-secretariat at the Ministry of Works, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning yesterday inaugurated its new website which was designed according to the latest technological developments. The website was unveiled on the sidelines of the Bahrain International Gardens Show (BIGS 2018).

The new-look website ensures easy navigation for users, and features many new services, such as SMS and WhatsApp to enable officials to directly communicate with the public, and respond to the complaints and proposals of farmers. The website is linked to a number of agricultural guidance services, which will make more interactive with users. A mobile application was also designed to support the services provided by the website for users. Agriculture and Marine Wealth Undersecretary Shaikh Khalifa bin Isa Al Khalifa said that the launch of the new website is in line with the initiatives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King, President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and Chairperson of the Advisory Board of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), to promote agricultural projects and events and spread the agricultural culture among the citizens, as well as to highlight their success stories in order to encourage them and motivate them.

The undersecretary asserted that the website will be, along with NIAD, a source of information for researchers and investors in the agricultural field.
