GPIC women engineers take part in annual GPCA forum in Dubai
Manama : Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) Board Chairman Dr. Ahmed Al Sharyan led a high-powered Company delegation to take part in the Twelfth Annual Forum of the Gulf Petrochemical and Chemical Association (GPCA) in Dubai.
GPIC Vice-Chairman Yousef bin Abdulrahman Al-Zamil and Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, along with other officials and a group of women engineers, were among those who attended.
In a statement, Dr. Jawahery said supporting women and empowering them was no longer an option but a duty for decision-makers and GPIC’s management is committed to be a role model in the field.
He said such support is in line with the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of His Majesty the King and president of the Supreme Council for Women.
The forum this year was held on the theme, “The development of the chemicals sector: the beginning of a new era”, where speakers presented specialized working papers.
