Ramadan: panel to meet today
Manama : The moon-sighting committee will meet today evening at the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) headquarters to gather testimonies to confirm the sighting of Ramadan crescent.
The committee which convened yesterday at the SCIA meeting room said that it hadn’t received any testimonies confirming the birth of Ramadan crescent.
Meanwhile religious authorities in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates announced Ramadan is due to begin tomorrow.
The announcements came after religious authorities in the two Gulf Arab countries failed to sight the crescent moon on Thursday night, state media reported.
