Kingdom Joins UN Security Council E10 Ministerial Dinner in New York
Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the third annual ministerial dinner for the ten current elected members of the United Nations Security Council and the five newly elected members whose terms begin in January 2027.
The dinner was jointly hosted by Kuwait, Latvia and Pakistan in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Discussions focused on strengthening coordination and consultation among elected Council members and facilitating the exchange of experiences between current and incoming members as they prepare to assume their responsibilities.
The meeting also addressed ways to enhance the Security Council’s effectiveness and working methods, strengthen its role in maintaining international peace and security, and consider issues on its agenda.
Bahrain’s participation comes as part of its non-permanent membership of the Security Council for the 2026–2027 term and reflects its commitment to strengthening coordination and collective action in support of international peace, security and peaceful conflict resolution.
