Joint campaign checks safety standards
The Coast Guard, in cooperation with several government authorities, carried out a joint inspection campaign targeting diving centres and shops across the Kingdom.
The campaign aimed to ensure compliance with security and safety requirements and checking the condition of diving equipment, facilities and the qualifications of instructors and staff.
Inspectors verified certificates confirming the quality of air used to fill diving cylinders, as well as training and accreditation certificates for instructors and employees.
The campaign also checked the validity of commercial registrations and compliance with regulations governing licensed activities.
Officials inspected diving equipment and air cylinders, including records of regular testing and maintenance. They also checked the availability of oxygen equipment, first-aid supplies and emergency plans.
The campaign was conducted by the Coast Guard in coordination with the Police Directorates of Muharraq and the Capital Governorates, the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
