The Indian Club Set to Host Flagship "Onam Fiesta - Aavani 2026" from September 24

The Executive Committee of The Indian Club has announced its upcoming flagship cultural extravaganza, "THE ONAM FIESTA - AAVANI 2026," scheduled to take place within the club premises from September 24 to October 9, 2026. As one of the most anticipated events on the community calendar, this year's festival features a rich lineup of traditional sports, competitive events, and cultural entertainment designed to capture the true spirit of Onam.

The festivities kick off on Thursday, September 24, with the Official Inauguration of the Onam Celebration at 7:00 PM, followed by an energetic Cinematic Dance Competition. On Friday, September 25, attendees can enjoy a double-feature evening featuring the Payasam Competition at 6:00 PM, followed by the high-energy traditional Tug of War Competition at 7:30 PM.

The second week begins on Thursday, October 1, with a heritage showcase featuring the Onappudava Competition starting at 7:00 PM, followed by the Onappattu Competition and a live performance by the Rithu Music Band. On Friday, October 2, a grand cultural evening will feature a Mega Thiruvathira performance with over 100 female dancers starting at 8:00 PM, followed by a Mega Musical Show led by celebrity performers Paattu Family and Shaheer Moidu Poolakath.

The festival concludes on Friday, October 9, with the traditional Onasadhya, serving 3,500 members, patrons, and invited guests. Renowned sadhya specialist Mr. Jayan Sukumara Pillai will prepare a traditional 29-item feast served on banana leaves directly on the club premises.
