HH Shaikh Khalid Attends Khaleeji 27 Opening Ceremony
His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, attended the opening ceremony of the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup, Khaleeji 27, in Saudi Arabia.
HH Shaikh Khalid said the Arabian Gulf Cup holds a special place in Gulf sports history, representing a longstanding sporting legacy and bringing together the peoples of the GCC through camaraderie and fair competition.
He noted that the tournament extends beyond football, describing it as an established Gulf sporting event that reflects the shared ties, history and bonds between the region’s peoples.
HH Shaikh Khalid also highlighted the tournament’s contribution to the development of Gulf football and its role in producing prominent players and memorable sporting moments.
He praised Saudi Arabia’s preparations and organisational capabilities for hosting the 27th edition, noting the Kingdom’s experience in staging major sporting events.
HH Shaikh Khalid wished Saudi Arabia success in hosting the tournament and all participating national teams success in delivering strong performances that reflect the development of Gulf football.
