New Strategy to Transform Bahrain Healthcare

Bahrain has launched its National Health Strategy 2026–2030, setting out a roadmap for the continued development of the Kingdom’s healthcare system.

The Supreme Council of Health launched the strategy during a ceremony at the Sheraton Bahrain Hotel, attended by Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, Dr. Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, and several health sector officials.

Dr. Shaikh Mohammed said the health sector continues to receive the attention and support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He said this support has contributed to the continued development of Bahrain’s health system, improving its efficiency and the quality of its services while keeping human health and quality of life among national priorities.

He described the launch of the National Health Strategy 2026–2030 as a significant milestone in the development of the Kingdom’s health sector.

The strategy, titled “From Development to Impact: Continuous Transformation of the Health System with a Clear Vision, Equity, and Sustainability,” provides a comprehensive roadmap for the coming phase.

It is based on global best practices and aligned with Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, the government programme and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Dr. Jalila said the health sector has achieved major accomplishments through the continued support of His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

She stressed that achieving the strategy’s objectives will require continued teamwork and coordinated efforts across all parts of the health sector.
