Primary school student develops air purifier to help her ‘special’ friends
Manama : It is often said that necessity is the mother of all inventions.
And in the case of Juwairiya Al Siddeeqi, this necessity came in the form of an ‘Air purifier’.
Her ‘special’ friends were in need, and Juwairiya was well aware of that.
She also knew that her friends were disturbed even by the delicate changes in the atmosphere.
It is at this juncture that the idea to create an Air Purifier struck Juwairiya, the Al Orooba Primary Girls’ School student.
The purifier developed by Juwairiya works simply by connecting to an air-conditioning unit. All it takes is a few minutes for the machine, with the help of water and sanitisers, to clean the air.
Her invention was installed in the school’s nursing room in the presence of Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi, who was full of praise for Juwairiya Al Siddeeqi.
Juwairiya, on the occasion, also told the minister that she is planning to participate in the programmes organised by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, as this year theme is “sustainable development and climate change”.
