Dr Varghese Kurian to be honoured
Manama : Dr Varghese Kurian, a business personality from the Kingdom, has won an award for his contributions to social welfare.
Bahrain-based businessman Dr Kurian, who is the Chairman and Managing Director of VKL Holdings and Al Namal Group of Companies, will receive the citation, a memento and a prize money of Rs 1 lakh on December 12 in a ceremony organised as a part of ‘Ayyappa Mahasatram’ in Kerala, India.
A well-known philanthropist, Dr Kurian has personally contributed to various charity causes in India and Bahrain. He has been honoured by the Indian government with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman award, the highest civilian honour for non-resident Indians.
