Man gets jail for assaulting cop
Manama : An Arab man was sentenced to three years behind bars for physically assaulting a cop who tried to arrest him.
The defendant was involved in possessing, using and selling illegal drugs. After receiving a tip-off about his dealings, the police launched a sting operation to nab him.
An undercover agent got in touch with him and a deal was reached with the defendant. The pair agreed to meet in Arad.
Police officers pounced on the defendant as soon as he handed the drugs to the agent in plain clothes, but he resisted the arrest and attacked the officer. He was eventually captured and referred for trial.
