Al Fakhar win in first leg

Former football professional Hussain Sulaiman led defending champions Al
Fakhar to a vital 2-1 first leg lead over Victorious in the football
competition of the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and
eighth Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 8).
Sulaiman scored both goals for the champions in the 60th and 64th
minutes at the Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town, with Abdulrahman Al
Malki pulling a goal back for Victorious in second half stoppage time.
Both teams will meet again tonight with Al Fakhar only requiring a
draw or a win by any score to qualify for Friday's final against
either Batelco Gunners United or Al Nuwayef.
Afterwards Hussain Sulaiman won the best player award sponsored by Fast
Link Bahrain.
Meanwhile, in the basketball tournament Al Muharraq beat Al Manama by
86-81 at Bahrain Basketball Association in Umm Al Hassam.
Muharraq deserved its win as they dominated the match throughout the
four quarters of the game after demonstrating teamwork and
coordination on the way to victory.
Six teams are playing two-robin groups with the final scheduled for
this Wednesday.
The volleyball competition is ongoing with six teams split into two
groups of three playing round-robin with final tomorrow night, while
the handball competition has already concluded.
The games which are being held under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser
bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for
Charity Works and Youth
Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and
President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.
