BIKC all set for Karting thrills

Excitement returns tonight to the Bahrain International Karting
Circuit (BIKC) in Sakhir with the second round of the 2015/2016 SWS
Bahrain Championship taking place.
The SWS is an arrive-and-drive series that gives karters of all skill
levels a chance to compete in a fun yet professionally run challenge
and follows on from a successful opening round last week featuring a
record grid of 21 karts that took part in each of the two races.
Ali Al Baslar and Mohammed Mattar shared the honours and both will be
hoping for a repeat of their early season success.
The championship is open to all aged 16 years and above, both men and
women of any nationality and any level of experience. The cost to
compete is BD60 per driver, per round.
Tonight's action is scheduled to begin at 9.45pm with practice,
followed by qualifying follows at 10.05pm with race one beginning
at10.30pm, while race two will begin at 11pm with a podium ceremony
after the racing.
All are welcome to attend and watch participants battling each other
in identical RT9 Sodikarts, which will be provided by BIKC.
BIKC is inviting all motorsport lovers to come and take part in the
series and to experience the joy and unique thrill of grassroots motor
racing.
The championship has been organised by BIKC and Bahrain International
Circuit, in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation and Bahrain
Karting Club.
All races this season are being held at night under BIKC’s
state-of-the-art track floodlighting system. BIKC is the only grade
‘A’ karting circuit in the world that is sanctioned by the Commission
Internationale de Karting (CIK-FIA) to hold world championship-level
races at night.
Drivers earn points at each meeting and at the end of the campaign,
the three drivers with the most points will be awarded with a free
seat to compete at this season’s SWS World Finals in France.
Following tonight's second round, the remainder of the 2015/2016
championship will take place between October and March of next year.
