Fake credit cards: Jail terms reduced

ManamaTwo Malaysian women convicted on grounds of fraud have had their five year’s imprisonment cut to three on appeals. The duo were accused of purchasing luxury watches in Bahrain by using fake credit cards.

Their crimes were reported to police by a credit card issuer in Bahrain. Police planned an ambush, and both of the women were nabbed.

The first woman said that she had received 10 fake credit cards from a friend who works in a bank in Malaysia, while
the other suspect stated that her family gave her 14 credit cards.

According to court files, the pair tried to purchase watches worth BD7000.  They also used the cards to settle room rent charges.

The Malaysian women had been charged with fraud and using fake credit cards. The women will be deported once they complete their jail time.
