Bahrain to host next GCC summit

Manama : Bahrain will host the next GCC summit which will call for activating cooperation towards Gulf unity, affirmed Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

The Premier pointed out the Gulf Union as an inevitable goal, and a necessity to confront security and economic challenges and other serious risks sweeping across the region. 

Prince Khalifa made the statements while receiving a number of Gulf and Arab ambassadors, citizens, businessmen, heads of civil society organisations, intellectuals and journalists at the Gudaibiya Palace
yesterday. 

The Premier also called for maintaining the unity of Arab stance and enhancing cooperation to face the serious developments witnessed by the region. 

Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain, Dr. Abdullah Abdulmalik Al Sheikh, highlighted that the Austrian Order of Merit conferred on HRH Prime Minister as a source of pride for the Arab nation.

The honour was awarded in recognition of Prince Khalifa’s key role in supporting charity and humanitarian activities and world peace.

The Prime Minister mentioned that the award is a tribute to the people of Bahrain, while hailing their support to national development. 

Unifying the Arab and Islamic states’ stance and taking joint action against risks and challenges were also stressed during the meeting.
