Bahraini schools to go digital

Manama : The “Digital Empowerment in Education” project will be extended to all intermediate and secondary schools in the coming period according to Minister of Education Dr. Majid Al Nuaimi.

The Minister was speaking while honouring more than 70 officials and affiliates of the programme from the 17 schools where the project was successfully implemented.

Dr. Al Nuaimi affirmed that digital empowerment in education is the best means to prepare for competencies in this digital age.

The Minister explained that during the first phase, the Education Ministry will focus on outfitting the schools with the needed equipment while providing specialised training for the educational and administrative staff.

“The ‘Digital Empowerment in Education’ project is a successful extension of ‘HM King Hamad Schools of the Future’ project which has achieved all its goals,” he said.

Assistant Undersecretary for General and Technical Education, Latifa Al-Bunoodha, Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Information, Nawal Al-Khater, Director
of the King Hamad Schools of the Future Project, Ahmed Hassan, and senior Education Ministry officials also attended the honouring ceremony.
