Al Dosari wins, BDF team dominate

Manama : Basil Al Dosari (24.75 seconds, four faults) riding CISM 1 stormed to victory after holding off the challenge of five other riders in the opening round of the showjumping season and grabs the grand prize at the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Military Sports Association arena in Sakhir.

Coming in second place was Ahmed Mansoor on Edward Du Sud BDF (27.46 seconds, 4 faults) and Ahmed Al Jahromi on Dory AKJC (31.58, 4 faults) in third place, while Ahmed Al Alawi (30.15, 8 faults) riding Ornik was fourth.

BDF riders dominated the event in the second round with Ahmed Mansoor on Edward Du Sud BDF (25.15 seconds) clinching victory, followed by teammates Saber Salman Faraj (27.62) on Mansoor BDF in second and Shaikh Abdulla Al Khalifa (28.18) on Venus BDF in third, with Hussain Dadalla (27.83, 4 faults) in fourth.

In the third round, Yousif Mousa Al Khater (37.35) riding on Bashar BDF finished first, while Ahmed Akbar (32.55, 4 faults) on Athlatico and Yahya Ahmed (32.97, 4 faults) on I Thrust You Al Wassem finished in second and third places respectively.

In the two Junior class categories, Ahmed Al Hasheli won both while riding Ravissante D’Elle Horse Pride.

This season’s opening event was attended by its patron HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), who distributed prizes to the winners.
