Former Bahrain MP's case adjouned
Manama : The case of former MP Hamza Al Deeri, accused of participating in an illegal protest in Duraz has been adjourned until August 29 for review.
The demonstration erupted after the authorities had decided to revoke the citizenship of controversial religious figure Isa Qassim citing his role in creating “extremist” sectarian atmosphere and working to divide the Bahraini society.
Al Deeri, who was also a senior member in the now liquidated Al Wefaq Islamic Society, is said to have participated in the demonstration, where he reportedly encouraged the public against the regime.
Al Deeri had given several anti-government speeches, said prosecutors at the Lower Criminal Court.
