Role of workforce cherished

Manama : An insightful management alone cannot carry a company on its shoulders. Success of any organisation equally depends on the conviction and efforts of its workforce. A number of Bahraini organisations marked World Labour Day yesterday to honour its employees who sweat day in and out to take it to greater heights. DT News gives a glimpse of the celebrations that took place yesterday.

GPIC employees awarded 

The Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation organised a celebration to mark International Labour Day, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Minister of Labour and Social Development Jameel Humaidan, who was deputed by HM the King to attend the event, gave away awards and certificates to 227 workers in recognition for their contributions.

A group of employees of the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) were also among those honoured in the presence of GPIC General Manager Manufacturing Fadhel Al Ansari and members of the Executive Management.

GPIC President Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery, said the winners have set an example for all employees to maintain the high standards and professional skills that the company has been known for since its establishment. 

Dr. Jawahery said the company employees’ loyalty and team spirit portray their distinctiveness and dedication towards their work and push them towards performing better and more efficiently. He said several entertainment events and activities organised from time to time for the workers and their families create a very congenial atmosphere among them and promotes the one-family spirit.

Dr Jawahery said all these steps had paid off in the shape of the many achievements and accolades won by the company in the shape of national and international awards. 

He said the workers themselves were able to achieve distinctive individual milestones not only in their professional field but also in areas such as sports, public speaking and photography. 

In the process, he said, the company’s Bahraini workers had shown they were second to none when it comes to excellence and innovation.

Dr. Jawahery said the company looks after its employees in every way possible, including all possible facilities and privileges in employment and health insurance for the employee and his family. 

Sharing joy at Nass Contracting

The Management team of Nass Contracting Company, a subsidiary of Nass Corporation, made a surprise visit to all of its project site offices on Saturday, to spread the joy of May Day in advance.

The team from Nass Contracting head office, and its subdivisions Nass Landscapes and Nass Plumbing met its workforce at 14 sites. 

Food packs and soft drinks were served to 3,000 labourers at noon. Warm greetings were exchanged between the management and its workforce during this corporate initiative. 

Nass Contracting is currently busy with its two major project’s the Alba Nuwaidrat Interchange and King Faisal Corniche Development.

Palace Boutique Hotel celebrates

The Palace Boutique Hotel celebrated Labour’s Day in recognition of all the staff’s efforts, with a gathering at the staff cafeteria. 

The hotel management encouraged employees to participate in such events to foster a culture of team work and cooperation.
