Gulf Air has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with aviation startup JetZero to acquire the next-generation Z4 aircraft, marking a major step in the airline's long-term fleet modernization and sustainability strategy.

The aircraft, expected to enter service in the early 2030s, is designed to carry up to 250 passengers over distances of 5,000 nautical miles, enabling Gulf Air to expand connectivity across Europe and Asia from Bahrain.

Featuring an innovative blended-wing design, the Z4 promises up to 50% lower fuel consumption than conventional aircraft while offering passengers a more spacious and comfortable cabin with wider boarding doors, multiple cabin sections, and dedicated overhead storage. Gulf Air said the agreement reflects its commitment to investing in advanced aviation technology, reducing environmental impact, and enhancing the travel experience as it continues to strengthen Bahrain's position as a regional aviation hub.
