Bahrain Showcases Public-Private Housing Model at UN Urban Development Meeting

New York: Ameen Al Arrayed, Chief Executive Officer of Naseej, participated in the United Nations High-Level Midterm Review Meeting on the implementation of the New Urban Agenda, held at the UN Headquarters in New York with the participation of ministers, senior officials, and representatives from member states.

During the meeting, Al Arrayed highlighted Bahrain's successful experience in fostering public-private partnerships (PPPs) to accelerate housing development and promote sustainable urban growth.

He explained that the Kingdom's collaborative approach has played a vital role in delivering integrated residential communities, attracting private investment, encouraging innovation in the real estate sector, and providing diverse housing solutions that meet the needs of citizens while supporting the objectives of the New Urban Agenda and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Al Arrayed noted that Bahrain's experience demonstrates how strategic cooperation between the government and private sector can speed up project delivery, improve efficiency, and balance economic growth with social development.

He also highlighted Naseej's participation in Bahrain's Government Land Development Programme, describing it as a successful example of leveraging private-sector expertise, financing, and execution capabilities to support national housing initiatives. The programme has helped accelerate the delivery of high-quality, sustainable housing projects while creating added value for the national economy.

He reaffirmed that the private sector remains a key partner in advancing sustainable urban development through innovative solutions, efficient financing and implementation models, and the creation of vibrant communities that enhance quality of life, while expressing pride in Bahrain's strong partnership between the public and private sectors in driving the Kingdom's long-term development goals.
