The Bahraini press will continue to serve as a key pillar of national work under the royal care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, said the Chief of Police, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan.

He highlighted the role of the national media and its civilisational and national responsibilities in supporting the development of the modern state, under the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

Marking Bahraini Press Day, Lt-General Al Hassan described the occasion as a national commitment and recognition of journalism’s role in safeguarding societal values, reinforcing national achievements, and promoting principles through credible reporting. He said the press also plays a key role in strengthening public awareness as a reflection of society’s voice and interests.

He also noted the strong coordination between the local press and the Ministry of Interior’s police media, describing it as a model of integrated national teamwork among institutions. He praised the media sector’s efforts in delivering accurate, fast and credible information, helping to counter rumours and misinformation while maintaining public trust.

Concluding his remarks, the Chief of Police stressed that the national press is an essential partner in development and progress. He commended the role of responsible journalism in nation-building and in fostering generations that understand the value of national unity and remain committed to protecting the country at all times.
