HM King Hamad Welcomes Delegates of Asian Youth Games

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, today welcomed senior guests and heads of delegations participating in the 3rd Asian Youth Games, hosted by Bahrain under His Majesty’s Royal Patronage. The reception, held at Sakhir Palace, took place in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the King’s Personal Representative.

At the outset, His Majesty warmly greeted the distinguished guests, expressing appreciation for their presence at this major continental event and wishing them a pleasant stay in their “second home,” the Kingdom of Bahrain.

His Majesty praised the strong and historic relations binding Bahrain with friendly and brotherly nations, highlighting the ever-growing cooperation across various sectors — particularly in youth and sports. He emphasized that Bahrain’s hosting of the Asian Youth Games reflects the nation’s deep commitment to fostering unity, understanding, and friendship among young athletes from across Asia.

“Sports serve as a universal bridge that strengthens connections, builds mutual respect, and promotes the noble values of peace, coexistence, and tolerance among all cultures,” His Majesty said, noting that the true victory of the Games lies in the spirit of friendly competition and solidarity shared among the continent’s youth.

His Majesty also commended the dedicated efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Asian Youth Games.

The King praised their tireless work to ensure the Games’ success — reaffirming Bahrain’s reputation as a leading sporting hub capable of hosting world-class regional and international tournaments. His Majesty further applauded the organizing committees for their outstanding preparation and the remarkable opening ceremony, crediting Bahrain’s loyal sons and daughters for their professionalism and dedication.

During the gathering, His Majesty extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Kingdom of Morocco for winning the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, commending the Moroccan team for their remarkable and inspiring performance throughout the tournament.

In turn, the distinguished guests and delegation heads expressed deep gratitude to His Majesty the King for the warm welcome and generous hospitality they received. They praised Bahrain’s exceptional organization of the Games, the state-of-the-art facilities, and the smooth arrangements made for participants and visitors. They also conveyed their admiration for Bahrain’s achievements and extended their best wishes for continued progress and prosperity under His Majesty’s wise leadership.
