Court orders Muharraq car dealer off disputed land

A car dealer from Muharraq must clear out of two plots he has held without permission for years, the High Commercial Appeals Court has ruled.
The higher court overturned an earlier decision by judges who had thrown out the eviction claim, deciding the case was too involved to treat urgently because the dealer’s business address appeared officially listed at the disputed sites.
Yet the appeals judges disagreed. They said the landowner clearly held title deeds and had secured permits to build on the plots.
The dealer attended court but showed no paperwork proving his right to be there, leaving the judges to rule that his continued presence was simply unlawful.
