Bahrain Participates in GCC Meeting on Public Prosecution Cooperation

Public Prosecution Chief Mohammed Yousef Al-Zubari represented Bahrain at the 48th meeting of legal experts from the public prosecution offices of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. The meeting took place at the GCC Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh.
During the session, the committee discussed several key issues listed on the agenda. Among the highlights was a proposed guide on how to handle investigations involving elderly individuals, aiming to ensure respectful and appropriate procedures during legal proceedings.
Another major topic was a proposal to develop a unified framework law to regulate the use of artificial intelligence within legal and judicial processes. The committee also reviewed a policy aimed at strengthening cooperation among public prosecution bodies across the GCC countries, as well as with the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP).
The meeting concluded with several recommendations designed to enhance coordination and legal practices among member states.
